Shares of some top oil companies were mixed at the close of trading:
Chevron rose $.06 or .1 percent, to $76.70.
ConocoPhillips rose $.77 or 1.5 percent, to $50.75.
Exxon Mobil fell $.41 or .6 percent, to $71.74.
Marathon Oil rose $.42 or 1.3 percent, to $32.39.
